The line wasn't too long when we arrived. I got the Moritos and the Mexicano hot chocolate. The churros were crispy and coated with cinnamon sugar, which there was a lot left of in the cup. Would definitely come back if I'm ever craving churros! The mexicano hot chocolate was also really good. It's semi sweet with small chunks of cinnamon inside which I liked the texture of. Compared to the espanol hot chocolate, which was super thick (almost like pudding I feel like) the mexicano hot chocolate was thinner and silkier. The hot chocolate also made a great dip for the churros. The store is located to the left of northgate market's main entrance. There's a bakery shop right across from El Moro, which we visited afterwards!

Worth the hype! This is indeed the best Mexican churros in SoCal! There will be a line but it does move fast. The pro move here is to have someone wait in line to order while you go shop for any Mexican ingredients you might need from the grocery. I still wish I could get excellent Spanish churros here but absent that, I'll happily have these Mexican churros!

Wowie this place has BOMB churros!!! Hot and fresh and drenched with cinnamon! They're somehow light even though they're deep fried. I ordered the combo #3 which is the cafe de olla with 4 churros. I'm pretty sure they just stuffed a bag full of churros for me. I added a side of condensed milk but honestly the churros need nothing. The coffee was very smooth and sweet. I didn't have to add anything. Service on top of everything is awesome. The gentleman who helped me at the register was great as was the one that handed me my order. There is plenty of seating all throughout with a lovely atmosphere. Everyone in the market is excited about the offerings overall so it's a great experience

Went on a Saturday afternoon and it was POPPIN! The wait was about 25-30 min to get to the cashier. We were not greeted and were given sarcasm when we asked about the different sauces offered. The wait was only about 5-10 minutes long and luckily some seating indoors opened up to sit at. No one comes around to clean the tables though so expect to clean them up yourselves (esp. when people leave sticky messes). Overall, great tucked away spot (inside a Northgate Market) and worth it if you need a quick treat! It also is a great snack while grocery shopping! I also will note that I got the gingerbread flavored churro and really liked it. It was subtle in taste but I liked the dough consistency of these churros. I've been to other Northgate markets but this one felt like I was transported to a little farmers market in another country!

The best churros ever! Hot crispy on the outside and soft center.Well worth the long line.

Amazing, freshly made churros and hot chocolate! So chewy and soft, and just lightly sugared to perfection. Loved this place when I was in CDMX, and so glad I can have this here too. This is located inside the North Gate Market, and specifically the stall is located near the panaderia. Love the festive and happy vibes of the market itself, which has lots of cool food stalls and live music, in addition to the groceries. There was a long line on the weekend, but it moved very fast and efficiently, and I enjoyed my hot chocolate and freshly made-to-order churro while exploring all the fun things in the market!

What is not to love about a freshly made churro? Only the long line to actually get one The churros are made fresh right in front of you. They are lightly dusted with sugar and cinnamon. You can also get a small churro ice cream sandwich. They use real vanilla bean ice cream.

Located in Northgate Gonzalez Market, this is one of many food stalls available. The churros here are made fresh to order, which I loved! 'Churro': Super light and fluffy on the inside, and crispy on the outside! Churro itself is pretty thin compared to one's I've had before tho. For $2.50/churro, the price is not too bad and good if you want a small treat to satisfy your sweets craving! Went during the weekday afternoon and there was no wait!

After watching somebody feed Phil on Netflix and he was in Mexico City having these amazing churros. Then I see something pop up on my IG story of this place opening up inside the biggest Northgate in Costa Mesa, Orange county. Once you walk in you see the El moro first and another bakery across. You order your goodies and you get to stand there and look at the magic happens. Looks amazing and super fresh, We ended up ordering the 12 piece with 3 dipping sauce, two types of hot chocolate, mexicano and france. Mexicano seems a little too sweet but the France wasn't too sweet and delicious. We had to eat some of the churro there and it really doesn't need the dipping sauce. It's delicious the way it is. now reheating it, it's still really good. win win! Service was quick and the staff was very friendly.

El Moro Churreria, located in Costa Mesa, in Mercado Gonzales Food court. Its humble beginnings were as a churro cart in Mexico City in 1935. This location is the first location in the United States. A second location will be opening in Echo Park in 2025. Lines can be crazy on weekends (at least they were the last time I came on a weekend), but they are modest on weeknights. Because I come on weeknights, I can usually find seating at this food court easily. This churro shop is a welcome addition to orange county. I got an order of their moritas (mini churros) with a side of condensed milk dipping sauce. What's not to like about freshly fried churros with cinnamon and sugar and your choice of dipping sauce. You get far more here than you would at disneyland and it's a good time. I don't think I'd wait greater than 20 minutes for this (unless I came here specifically for this), but I do think it's worth visiting if there isn't a crazy wait.
